About Miss Jen

"We love Oceanside! I'm a Mom of 3, raising my kids in South Oceanside, CA. I've been doing childcare since 2001 and love what I do. My husband and I enjoy the beach and all of the things our beautiful community has to offer.

-Miss Jen ❤

Health and education are very important to Miss Jen. She uses organic as much as possible and will shop around to find the best organic options for her day-to-day necessities. She is working on a farm-to-table/garden-to-table menu full of locally grown organic fruits and vegetables.

After obtaining her Associate Teaching certificate in Early Childhood Education at Mira Costa College in 2003, her teaching experiences have had her teaching at La Petite Academy with the 4's and at KinderCare in the toddler and 2's. Since getting her license for Family Child Care in 2012, she has continued her education through the YMCA Childcare Resource Services in the Child Care Initiative Program. With these experiences and many other trainings under her belt, she is striving to provide the most up-to-date methods for childcare, early childhood education, health, safety, and nutrition.

Spending time outside is very important to Miss Jen and the children that attend. Spending more than an hour in the morning and an hour in the afternoon, they do things such as gross motor play, sensory, dramatic play, science, and gardening. The garden is maintained using organic material and recycled material. Her goals are working towards adapting her garden to include composting, saving rainwater, and having an organic-rich flower, fruit, and vegetable garden.

Miss Jen is dedicated to her passions. She plans to continue offering full-time, part-time, and drop-in/as needed childcare, teaching a preschool program during the week, hosting and participating in events that bring the community together with live music, food, and fun for the kids, hosting parent's night out, offering opportunities for field trips, cooking, music, dance, art, science, technology, video games, and math, and lastly, planning, hosting and participating in meetups around San Diego County.
